Community Awareness

Education is prevention! The Child & family Support Center is willing to send a representative to your group to talk about topics regarding parenting strategies and abuse prevention issues. Common subjects frequently requested are: how to build self-esteem in children; how to talk so kids will listen; positive discipline techniques; signs and symptoms of sexual abuse, and more. To arrange for a presentation, please contact the Center at (435) 752-8880.

Booths

The Child & Family Support Center is willing to host informational booths throughout Cache and Rich Counties. Here are some of the community events where you can find us:

  • Smithfield Health Days
  • Gardner's Market
  • Red Zone Week at USU
  • Magical Moon Toys Anniversary Carnival
  • Logan City and Cache County Back to School Nights
Child Abuse Prevention Month

The month of April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. This is the time that the Child & Family Support Center holds its annual Blue Ribbon Benefit Dinner and Auction. All donations received during the event go directly to the Child & Family Support Center. If you are interested in donating an item for the auction or would like to make a cash donation, please call (435)752-8880

Flocked 'Cha

Throughout the month of April, watch for our flocks of flamingos to land! For a small donation, you can request a group of 15-20 pink, plastic flamingos to be placed on a yard or business of your choice. The Child & Family Support Center flamingo patrol will set up the flamingos along with a large banner that says ‘Flocked Cha’…This person cares about protecting children.’

Our flamingo activities continue throughout the month of April in our local grocery stores. For a $1 donation, you can write your name on one of our flamingos and see it displayed in the store where the flamingo was purchased. This is an easy, fun way to promote child abuse prevention awareness in addition to raising funds for the Child & Family Support Center.

Summer Slammer

During the summer we hold our annual slow pitch co-ed softball tournament at the Willow Park Quad. In addition to a fabulous tournament, activities are provided for children, there is delicious food and a tempting concession stand. Prizes are given for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the tournament, as well as for the homerun derby. If you are interested in participating in the softball tournament, please contact us (435)752-8880.
