Crisis Hotline
Attention parents! After a challenging day with your children, do you ever find yourself in a position that you just need to talk to an adult? Are you experiencing difficulties that you don't feel equipped to handle? Do you feel overwhelmed with life's challenges but don't know where to turn? The Child & Family Support Center offers a 24-hour hotline for concerns just like these! Our compassionate staff members will treat your concerns confidentially and professionally, providing you with follow-up resources and community referrals as appropriate.
Reasons why parents call our 24-hour crisis hotline:
- “My kids have been fighting all day! Do you have any suggestions on how I can help them to stop arguing and get along?”
- “I am a stay-at-home mom. I love my children dearly. However, today I have had a tough day. I just need an adult to talk to.”
- “I think my next door neighbors may be abusing their child. What should I do?”
- “My baby won’t stop crying! Do you have any ideas?”
- “I’m looking for a therapist to take my child to. He is always so angry, and I think he needs help. Do you have any idea who I can send him to?”
- “I just caught my teenager using drugs. His grades are slipping, and I’m worried about his new group of friends. What should I do?”
- “I feel like I’m losing control. How can I stop losing my temper so often?”
Our clients also use the 24-hour hotline to:
- Obtain parenting information (i.e. discipline strategies, anger management techniques, etc.)
- Inquire about child development
- Receive information about other services available in the community
- Have a non-judgmental person listen to a challenging personal situation and offer constructive feedback
