Crisis/Respite Nursery

Crisis: Regardless how much we love and care about our children, we all find ourselves in the position at times when we could use a break. The Crisis Nursery is designed to provide a safe, homelike atmosphere where parents can bring their children confidentially when the family is in a crisis situation. The Nursery accepts children ages eleven and under. Examples of possible reasons for using the Nursery may include:

  • Medical Emergencies
  • Financial Stressors
  • Divorce
  • Family Violence
  • Previous Abuse Issues
  • Mental Health issues
  • Feeling Potential Loss of Control as a Parent

Parents will discuss with the Nursery Worker the amount of time that support is needed. The Child & Family Support Center works directly with the parent to assess their needs, and supports them in any way possible. We ask that at least 30 minutes notice be given before bringing children into the Nursery. Contact the Nursery at (435) 752-8880 for additional information. There is no cost for this service.

Respite: When parents take care of themselves, they are better able to care for their children. Our Respite Care program is designed to give parents a planned “time out” which is time for them to do whatever they need. After an initial intake is complete, an assigned time period (generally once per week) is scheduled. The intake consists of gathering information such as how we can best care for your children, allergy and medical information, behavior management strategies used by the parents, and current support systems that may be in place. While in the confidential Nursery, your children will be supervised by staff that has passed Background Criminal Investigations. Children may engage in arts and crafts activities, play in our huge backyard or enjoy the multitude of toys in the Nursery. There is no cost for this service.
