Good-Touch/Bad-Touch®

Did you know that 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 5 boys will be sexually abused before they are 18 years old? In 2007, there were 2,147 sexual abuse cases prosecuted in Utah, and the number is sadly growing.

Do your children have the tools they need to keep themselves safe from sexual abuse?
Good-Touch/Bad-Touch® is a nationally-acclaimed body safety program that teaches children about sexual abuse in a safe and nurturing environment. Age-appropriate presentations are designed for children in preschool through 6th grade and can be administered either in a classroom setting, individually or in small groups. The curriculum is based on five simple but powerful body safety rules that children are taught to help them stay safe.  Call the Child & Family Support Center at (435) 752-8880 for more information about this important course!
BODY SAFETY RULES

      • HEY, IT’S MY BODY! – I have the right to know ALL the safety rules, and I decide who I want to share my body with.
      • THE “UH-OH” FEELING – If I feel like something’s wrong, then I’m right. Sometimes I need to ask questions.
      • I can SAY “NO!” to sexual abuse or to bad touches and GET AWAY.
      • I will TELL SOMEONE if I am sexually abused or hurt.
      • SEXUAL ABUSE IS NEVER MY FAULT!

Good-Touch/Bad-Touch® is presented by well-trained, certified instructors and is taught through song, interactive activities, repetition, movies and role play. This program is developmentally appropriate and gives children the vocabulary to communicate on their own levels. Children leave the presentation feeling positive and confident about their ability to be more aware of sexual abuse. On the final day of the presentation, children receive a pencil imprinted with Child & Family Support Center’s phone number, along with their own body safety “credit card,” which lists the five Good-Touch/Bad-Touch® rules and has a place for children to record their personal emergency/body safety phone numbers.

  • “I love how the presenter talked to the kids on their level. They talked about potentially embarrassing things, but the kids responded and did not feel uncomfortable.” —2nd Grade Teacher
  • “I wouldn’t have told without Nicole (GTBT presenter) coming and talking to us.” —1st Grade Student Who Reported Abuse
